The Key Role of Deputy President William Ruto in 2022 Elections
William Ruto is a man with a big office, yet he has no power. Recent political events have left him desperately trying to play his cards right to have a chance of being the president come 2022. His divorce with the Jubilee party will only nasty and messy, forcing the deputy president out of power and into the opposition party in the next election.
The Jubilee party has formed a strong coalition with the current opposition leader Raila Odinga, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, KANU leader Gideon Moi and Wiper party leader Kalonzo. This powerful coalition will disadvantage the deputy president pushing him to become the leader of opposition come 2022.
This has left the deputy president with a team of young inexperienced politicians who do not command any power to move him to win the 2022 presidential elections.
The deputy president held a secret meeting with his close allies Majority Leader of the National Assembly of Kenya Aden Duale and deputy speaker of the senate Kithure Kindiki to plan on how they can respond to all the attacks directed to him. He also advised his allies to new political formations and give up their power position if the pressure mounts.
