Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro Review: Simply Terrific!
Poco F2 Pro is an interesting phone, from the overall built quality to all the software this phone has checked out most of the specs that you would expect to find in a top-end flagship phone at half the price.
I guess they are calling it “Pro” to mean that it is better than Poco F1, which was offering a flagship processor on a budget. The Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro has a great camera, a good processor, and the screen display is fantastic.
Xiaomi released the Poco F2 Pro in May 2020, the phone is competing against the One Plus 8 Pro because they use the same chipset Snapdragon 865.
Read this review to find the Poco F2 Pro is worth buying and the trade-offs you will make if you buy the Poco F2 Pro.
Things to Consider Before Buying a mid-range phone
Dust & Water Resistance
For phone manufacturers to produce a cheaper phone, they have to cut down on the costs of manufacturing while giving you an excellent product. One of the trade-offs they make is the phones lack IP68 water and dust resistance. That means that if your phone might be destroyed if exposed to water and dust.
Ensure the battery capacity of the phone you are getting is above 3500mAh. This will ensure that you get enough screen time without having to charge your phone every second.
Another trade-off that you will miss out on is wireless charging. Although the design and the battery capacity might be good, having a phone that does not support wireless charging or reverse charging is a bummer for me.
One other thing, ensure that the mid-range phone you get has the latest processor, this will ensure that your phone is fast and does not slug nor hung when you are using it and that is a good thing. Simply because you are purchasing it at a mid-range price doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t get excellent performance on your smartphone

Poco F2 Pro has a full-screen size display of 6 67 inch Amoled Display screen of 1080P which is a significant upgrade over the Poco F1. Giving you a simple yet perfect phone with no punch out of the camera. Because the phone has a pop out front facing camera that allows you to take slow mo videos on night mode with the ultra-wide camera. This will enhance your user experience when using this smartphone.
The other thing that makes this display amazing is the fact that it lacks a fancy curved glass screen, the display delivers accurate colors of deeper blacks.
Unlike the flagships phone, we have seen released in 2020 with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. You don’t get a trendy refresh rate with the Poco F2 Pro, just a regular 60Hz refresh rates, which is okay for a mid-range phone offered at this price, it is still giving you a smooth experience when using the phone. Because of the touch sampling rate of 180Hz.
As of 2020, most of the phone manufacturers have normalized, having optical fingerprint recognition features. The same thing goes for the Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro, the display has a fingerprint underneath the touch screen that is fast and you can rely on it to protect the content on your phone.
Battery Life of Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro
The battery life of the Poco F2 Pro is better with 4700mAh powering 1080 P at a 60 refresh rate. This two-day battery life can last you for up to 120 hours without having to recharge it. The beauty is that you can use the screen brightness and a high refresh rate without draining the battery life.

Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro Camera
The pop-up selfie camera has an LED on the module itself. You can configure the camera setting that you are more comfortable with. The phone has 64 MP quad cameras at the back, making it a high-end premium phone. The cameras will take impressive photos with up to 8k videos.
You should buy this phone because it offers impressive image quality at a cheap price. Unlike the iPhone SE or the Google Pixel 3A phones, the Poco F2 Pro has an ultra-wide camera, which takes better photos when your subject is far off.
Poco F2 pro has a 5MP macro camera that takes decent photos with a zoom of up to 2X because of the 50 mm lens plus autofocus. The 2 MP depth camera comes in handy when you are taking wide-angled shots.
They have watermarked the photos you take using the kinda annoying phone, but if you proudly own the Poco F2 Pro, I guess you won’t mind the watermarking.
Without the telecamera, the Poco F2 Pro has fallen short of a flagship phone, but it has made the difference up by ensuring that all the other features of the phone are amazing.

Here is what some verified Amazon purchases had to say about this product
The android skin is eh. Surprised to see ads baked into the UI, especially opening apps like file manager, downloads, and anything Xiaomi related.
Features that I enjoy – IR blaster (although the UI could be better, volume and channel buttons are scrunched together) Pop camera is a gimmick and there are Relatively timely android security updates.
